📚 Reading Promotion Week – Session 2025–26

🗓️ 1st July – 7th July 2025

As per PM SHRI Activity Guidelines, we begin Reading Promotion Week (Week 1) from 1st July 2025 under the Reading Mission Initiative.

🎯 The goal is to promote joyful reading, develop vocabulary, build creativity, and inspire daily book engagement among students.

📘 All students from Class 1 to 8 will participate in fun, drawing, and writing-based activities.

🏆 Daily best entries will be rewarded with certificates and prizes. Best works will be displayed in the school library and posted on the Library Blog.

Dear Students,

As part of Reading Promotion Week, we are excited to see your creativity and family involvement in the following activities:

1️⃣ "Read a Poem and Perform It"

• Perform a short story or poem you’ve read, adding your unique twist.
• Record your performance in a video (15 to 90 seconds).

2️⃣ "Family Reading Time"

• Read a book or story with your family and engage in meaningful discussions.
• Share a short video (15 to 90 seconds) OR 2-3 photos showcasing your family reading moments.

📌 How to Submit:
Send your videos or photos to your class group or directly to Librarian.

📅 Submission Deadline:
Submit your entries before 22 December 2024.

🏆 Recognition:
The best submissions will be rewarded, so let your creativity and enthusiasm shine!

A Blissful Reading Picnic in Nature

On a serene day surrounded by nature's beauty, my students and I enjoyed a peaceful reading picnic. Each student brought their favorite book and found their perfect spot under the shade of trees or on the soft grass.

With no structured activities, the students read freely at their own pace, fully immersed in the stories they love. The gentle rustling of leaves and the soft chirping of birds created a perfect backdrop for this quiet and fulfilling experience.

The simplicity of the day highlighted the joy of reading and the calming effect of nature, making it a cherished memory for all.

Story Chain Activity in the Library

The library buzzed with creativity during the Story Chain activity, where students built a story one sentence at a time. Surrounded by books, their imaginations soared, crafting tales full of twists, humor, and adventure.

This fun, collaborative exercise not only sparked creativity but also improved teamwork and storytelling skills. The library's calm setting added to the charm, making it a memorable experience.

By the end, students left with smiles, a shared story, and a newfound love for creative expression—a perfect day in the library!

"Guess the Book" Challenge

The “Guess the Book” Challenge was an interactive event that tested students’ knowledge of books. Book covers, excerpts, and short passages were displayed, and students had to identify the book titles or authors.

This activity sharpened students' observational and critical thinking skills while also introducing them to new books and authors. It created excitement as students competed to solve the clues and discover stories that piqued their interest.
