Activity : Shadow Puppet Theater

Activity 2: Shadow Puppet Theater

Reading Promotion Week – Library Activity

The Shadow Puppet Theater activity was organized to encourage creativity, storytelling, and expression among students. Students created shadow figures using their hands and a light source and drew diagrams showing hand movements and shadow results.

They wrote a short five-sentence story based on their shadow character and performed a 30-second puppet show at home. Family members assisted in recording the performance, making the activity engaging and interactive.

This activity improved imagination, language skills, and confidence while promoting learning through art and storytelling.

Activity : The Signboard Scout

 Activity : The Signboard Scout
Reading Promotion Week – Library Activity

Under Reading Promotion Week, students participated in “The Signboard Scout” activity to observe and understand public signboards around Chamarajanagar. Students sketched a nearby signboard using colours and artistic details.

They noted the location, colour combinations, shape, and message of the signboard and explained its importance. Students learned how shapes like circle, triangle, and square convey different instructions such as warning, information, or prohibition.

The activity enhanced observation skills, visual literacy, and awareness of public safety signs.

Activity : The News Hunter

 Activity : The News Hunter

Reading Promotion Week – Library Activity

The News Hunter activity was conducted to develop newspaper reading habits among students. Students cut and pasted a headline and weather report from a real newspaper.

They identified the main news headline, wrote a photo caption, and recorded the maximum temperature of Chamarajanagar. Students also classified the news under categories such as Sports, Politics, or Science.

This activity encouraged daily newspaper reading, improved general awareness, and strengthened students’ comprehension and analytical skills.
