भारत में हर साल 14 से 20 नवंबर तक National Library Week मनाया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य लोगों में पढ़ने की आदत को बढ़ावा देना, पुस्तकालयों के महत्व को समझाना और समाज में ज्ञान के प्रति जागरूकता पैदा करना है। यह सप्ताह पुस्तकालयों, शिक्षकों, विद्यार्थियों और पाठकों के लिए एक खास अवसर होता है जब वे पढ़ने, सीखने और खोज करने की खुशी का उत्सव मनाते हैं।

National Library Week एक राष्ट्रीय अभियान है जिसकी शुरुआत 1968 में हुई थी। इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य लोगों को पुस्तकालयों से जोड़ना और यह बताना है कि पुस्तकालय केवल किताबों का संग्रह नहीं, बल्कि ज्ञान, शिक्षा और प्रेरणा के केंद्र हैं।
यह सप्ताह छात्रों और नागरिकों को लाइब्रेरी की सुविधाओं, सेवाओं और संसाधनों से परिचित कराता है।

इस सप्ताह को मनाने का उद्देश्य

National Library Week मनाने के मुख्य उद्देश्य:

• पढ़ने की आदत बढ़ाना
  बच्चों और युवाओं में पढ़ने का प्रेम जगाना और उन्हें नियमित रूप से पुस्तकालय का उपयोग करने के लिए प्रेरित करना।

• पुस्तकालयों का महत्व समझाना
  आधुनिक दौर में पुस्तकालय केवल किताबों तक सीमित नहीं—यह डिजिटल संसाधनों, e-books, newspapers, journals, competitive exam सामग्री और research hubs का भी केंद्र है।

• ज्ञान साझा करने को बढ़ावा देना
  लाइब्रेरी समुदाय में सीखने, चर्चा और रचनात्मकता का वातावरण तैयार करती है।

• सूचना-साक्षरता (Information Literacy)
  पुस्तकालय छात्रों को सही जानकारी ढूँढने, विश्लेषण करने और समझने की क्षमता विकसित करने में मदद करते हैं।

1. ज्ञान का लोकतांत्रिक केंद्र
   पुस्तकालय हर व्यक्ति को बिना किसी भेदभाव के समान रूप से ज्ञान उपलब्ध कराता है।

2. डिजिटल युग में भी जरूरी
   इंटरनेट पर जानकारी बहुत है, लेकिन विश्वसनीय जानकारी ढूँढना कठिन है।
   पुस्तकालय प्रमाणिक और शोध-आधारित सामग्री उपलब्ध कराते हैं।

3. पढ़ने की संस्कृति बनाना
   आज के मोबाइल और सोशल मीडिया युग में पढ़ने की आदत कम होती जा रही है —
   इस सप्ताह के कार्यक्रम इसे दोबारा जीवित करते हैं।

4. रचनात्मकता और कल्पना का विकास
   किताबें व्यक्ति की सोच को गहराई देती हैं और उसे नए दृष्टिकोण से परिचित कराती हैं।

Theme: “Read – Create – Express – Go Digital!”

The second phase of Reading Promotion Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm, focusing on nurturing creativity, digital awareness, and the joy of reading among students of all age groups.

Day 1–2: Reading & Reflection Day

Students engaged in various reading and reflection-based activities that encouraged imagination, comprehension, and expression. The day inspired young readers to think deeply about what they read and express it in creative ways.

Day 3–4: E-Learning & Digital Awareness Day

This day promoted responsible and meaningful digital engagement. Students created posters, charts, and presentations emphasizing good online reading habits and the positive use of digital tools for learning.

Day 5–6: Write & Create Day

A day full of imagination and innovation — students wrote their own stories, designed booklets, and even created eBooks. It showcased the power of creativity and collaboration through words and visuals.

Day 7–8: Short Video & Performance Day – “YouTube Challenge”

The week concluded with energetic performances and storytelling videos. Students expressed their love for books through dramatizations, reviews, and inspiring talks. The best entries were featured online, celebrating reading in a digital way.

📚 Skit on the Importance of Books

Students presented a creative skit showing how life would be without books.
One student said mobile is enough for learning, while another explained that books are the real source of knowledge. By magic, all books disappeared — and everyone realized how dull and difficult learning became without them.

Later, the teacher, and even “History” and “Science” characters, reminded that books keep knowledge alive.
Finally, students concluded — “Books are our best friends. Read from the library and grow with knowledge!”
